Why Compare?
Both Cyzmic CS and Talstar P are great insecticides, but they each have their own unique benefits. Let’s take a closer look at what each one has to offer. Cyzmic CS is a water-based concentrate that controls dozens of different insects. The microencapsulated formulation means the control is released slowly, providing long-term protection.

Cyzmic CS is also labeled for use in food production areas, making it an excellent choice for commercial growers. Talstar P is a liquid concentrate that controls over 75 different pests. It is also pet and child-friendly, making it an excellent choice for homeowners. Talstar P is also non-staining so it won’t leave any marks on your surfaces.

Active Ingredients
Cyzmic Cs contain lambda-cyhalothrin which is the active ingredient at nine point seven percent. This product has no known toxic effects on mammals. It does not break down easily in the environment either, so it doesn’t wash away quickly like other insecticides.

Talstar P’s active ingredient is bifenthrin with low toxicity to mammals but a high enough toxicity that it can be harmful if inhaled or ingested by humans with asthma, allergies etcetera.

Target Pests
Cyzmic CS is effective against a wide range of pests, including Ants, Bed bugs adults, Bees, Boxelder Bugs, Carpenter Bees, Carpet Beetles, Centipedes, Cigarette Beetles, Clover Mites, Cockroaches, Confused Flour Beetles, Crickets, Earwigs Scorpions, Silverfish, Sowbugs, Spiders, Termites and more.

Talstar P is effective against over 75 insects including Stink Bugs, Bed Bugs, Scorpions, Spiders, Mosquitoes, Cockroaches, Ticks, Fleas, Pillbugs, Chinch Bugs, Earwigs, Millipedes, Dichondra Flea Beetles, Spittlebugs and others.

For Use In
Cyzmic CS can be used both indoors and outdoors, making it a versatile option for homeowners. Talstar P is also labeled for use in both indoor and outdoor applications. Both can be used in many different places, such as Perimeters of Buildings, Food-Handling Areas, Greenhouses, Kennels, Lawns, Ornamental Trees & Shrubs, Agricultural and Industrial Buildings, Parks, Recreational Areas and Athletic Fields.

Pet Safe
Both Cyzmic CS and Talstar P Insecticide are safe to use around pets and children when used as directed. You need to check the specific product label for more information on how to use it safely around pets and children.

Mixing Ratio
Cyzmic CS has a mixing ratio of 0.2 – 0.4 oz. per gallon of water. Talstar P has a mixing ratio of 0.5 – 1 oz. per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Both products are easy to mix and use. Simply add the recommended amount of insecticide to the specified amount of water in a garden sprayer and you’re ready to go.

Application Tips
Both Cyzmic CS and Talstar P can be applied with a hand pump sprayer, backpack sprayer or hose-end sprayer. For best results, apply the insecticide to areas where pests are seen or suspected. Be sure to thoroughly wet all areas, paying special attention to cracks and crevices.

How it Works
Cyzmic Cs is a pyrethroid insecticide which means it works by causing paralysis and eventually die with no known lethal effects on humans. However, when applying this product, the active ingredient goes into contact with pests such as ants, mosquitoes etc., and they come in contact with Cyzmic Cs.

The bifenthrin (active ingredient) in Talstar P Insecticide impairs an insect’s nerve system, and it is a powerful contact killer. When applied, insects come into contact with bifenthrin which causes paralysis and eventually death. The main difference between these two products is that Cyzmic Cs have more longevity, but some people may think differently.

Our Observation
After using both Cyzmic CS and Talstar P, we’ve come to the conclusion that they are both great products. They both work well and are easy to use. If we had to choose one, we would probably go with Talstar P because it seems to work a little better and lasts a bit longer.

However, both products are great and we would recommend either one. We hope this has helped you make a decision on which product to use. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below and we’ll do our best to answer them. Thanks for reading!
